The Learning Resource Center

The vision of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) is to instill a love of reading and an independent level of research competency in all Judson Montessori School (JMS) community members. Ask the Librarian a question.

Our Mission

The mission of the LRC is to ensure that all students and community members are independent, productive users of the LRC's resources, which are collected, designed, and formatted to support the JMS curriculum.

Our Collection

Our collection of over 6,000 books, tapes, periodicals and videos is varied, age appropriate, and high quality. We have a 22 books per student ratio, with approximately 65% of the collection being less than 15 years old.

Book Reviews

Several of our favorite books available for checkout, handpicked by our staff.

Book Lists

Book lists are a valuable resource when searching for a good read. Try these books and you won't be disappointed.

Honor Book Club

The Honor Book Club is a library project which benefits the entire JMS community. The purpose of the club is to enrich the library collection with books of outstanding quality and to provide our families with the opportunity to contribute to the JMS community in a lasting way. Selections for Honor Book gifts may be made in the front office (near the School Secretary's desk), where a wide variety of beautiful books is available.

You and your child may personally select books from this collection to donate to the library. A specially designed bookplate will be placed on the inside cover of the book with name of your child's guide, after which it will be placed in the permanent JMS library collection. For further information, please consult the school librarians.
