The Judson Montessori School (JMS) has a solid, thirty-four-year reputation for excellence in education and has one of the best Montessori-trained faculties in the country. Several teachers have been with the school for more than 20 years, and, all combined, the school’s 35-member teaching staff has over 500 years experience in education. JMS also employs specialists for music, spanish, physical education, library, art, motor skills, and athletics.
A four year college degree is a requirement for acceptance into an approved Montessori Training Course. The four year college degrees that our teachers hold come from a variety of majors: Elementary Education, French, Communication Disorders, Speech, Speech Science, Psychology, English, Microbiology, Interdisciplinary Studies, Spanish, Early Childhood, Business, Anthropology, Music Education, and English Literature. Some teachers hold Masters Degrees in: Business, Microbiology, and Special Education.
JMS is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and is a member of the American Montessori Society (AMS). Our teachers are certified by either AMS, AMI (Association of Montessori International), or MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education).
